Miracle child
Dear sister,
Thank you for the sharing. We will pray for you. Be strong in faith! God is good, all the time.
Doreen and I went thru in fertility treatment years back. IUI was one of the option, but the doctor didn't suggest that due to low success rate with our condition. Instead, she recommended IVF with additional procedure to insert the sperm into the egg (I forgot what that procedure is called...).
Anyway, at the time, I was laid off and was unemployed for a while. We had not condition to consider IVF. We were disappointed and were really down at some point. 2 years later, I remembered my family doctor asked me if we still want to persuade the fertility clinic option, I politely told her that I trust in God and I am waiting for His miracle. But God had his mercy on us. A few weeks later, Doreen found out she was pregnant.
9 months later, Doreen and I went to hospital to give birth to Jacob on the morning of our 5th anniversary. We looked at each other, amazed on the miracle God had done in our family. God picked our anniversary to remind us of his Grace and that He remembers us.
Note: We always trust God will prepare a child for us. We just didn't know if it is our own child or an adopted child. We had the option open, research on adopting process, etc.

Review on our Cuba Trip
Star Rating
We have been to other 4-star resort in Cuba. In our opinion, this is a 3.5 star resort. It was a low season when we visited the resort. The number of staff was greatly reduced. A lot of activities were cut or not available. The activities were not comparable to other 4 star resorts. There were 3 a la carte restaurants, but only one was opened each night. We booked the a la carte restaurants as soon as we arrived; we only managed to book 6pm slot at day 5 and day 6. All other slots were already fully booked. We were told that some guests didn't manage to book a la carte dinner. They have 6pm and 8pm slots. It is observed that they only served 7-8 tables, but there were 11-12 empty tables. When asked why there were so many empty tables, they told us that they will need more staff to serve if they open more tables.
The only thing that could make this resort becoming 4 star is that it has a really nice beach.
Room
We traveled with our 4 years old boy. We emailed the hotel to request a King size bed and an extra cot for our boy. We didn't receive any reply from the hotel. We didn't upgrade our room. To our surprise, the hotel actually prepared the king size bed and an extra cot for us. The room was spacious. With the king size bed, a cot, study desk, a fridge, TV, 2 small night tables, one big tea table, a sofa chair and a love chair, we still have plenty of usable room. We also have a balcony.
The AC is digital and we controlled our room temperature. There is satellite TV program, but they didn't broadcast the NHL's Stanley Cup Finals. The maid was good and friendly. We left a note to communicate with her and tipped her every day. We didn't see ant in the room, but did see a few ants in the bathroom. They didn't bother us at all.
The bell boys delivered our luggage to our room in 30 minutes. There were 2 big men delivering our 2 mid-size luggages. I tipped them one CUC, but they didn't leave. They were asking for a change so that they could split the money. I didn't have the change, we were tired & hungry after our flight delay and our boy was crying at the time. I gave them another CUC to make them disappear. Anyway, I regret my bad decision. Being said that, this is not enough to spoil our vacation and will not prevent us to tip for good service.
TIP: They only offer bath gel, shampoo and soap bar. There is no hair conditioner and lotion in the room. Bring your own if you think you will need them.
Food
The main buffet restaurant was closed when we were there. Yes. We agree the food is limited compared to other 4 star Cuba resort we visited before. However, we always find something to eat. They served different food every night.
Signs and maps
It was a bit frustrating at Day 1 as there were not a lot of signs and directions around the resort. It took us a while to find our room. We arrived around 3:30pm, and started looking for food around 5pm. The main buffet was closed for maintenance, but there is no sign saying it is closed. Finally, we did find something to eat at the snack bar. Again, there is no menu listed at the snack bar. You need to ask what kind of sandwiches was available. There was no sign of operating hours for the shop and bank. I guess it is their culture.
We saw a baby club there. But it was closed all the time. There was no sign of kid's activity posted.
There is a washroom at the restaurant near the beach. There was no sign of it until you walk thru the restaurant to the other end of it; it was perfectly hidden at the corner. Most people didn't know about it. I read a review about it but couldn't find it at Day 1 night but managed to locate it in Day 2 morning.
Shop
There is a shop at the resort. We bought a really nice beach bag. It was listed 7.5 CUC. When we paid, the cashier charged us for 9.5 CUC. I tried to show him the 7.5 CUC sign for the bag, but he said that was for another bag. There is no sign of 9.5 CUC at all. My wife really likes the bag. When we agreed to buy the bag at 9.5 CUC, he acted a bit strange then didn't want to issue us a receipt. He said the receipt only issued if we buy they cigars. It was a bit suspicious. I didn't like it, but we need a beach bag at the time. I decided to throw this behind my head and move on for our happy vacation.
The Beach
It is the most beautiful beach we have been so far. All three of us love it. We were like walking into a live picture.
Bank
There is a bank at the hotel. You can change your money there. The bank opens for 9am to 8pm. If you need to change money outside the hours, you can change the money at the front desk, with higher rate.
Tip: You can change some money at the bank next to the arrival hall, so that you could tip the bus driver and the tour guide on day 1.
Tip: We were advised to avoid changing money on Saturday and Sunday. The rate is higher on weekends.
Rain Season (aka Mosquitoes Season)
It was rain season when we arrived. There was unbelievable number of mosquitoes at BlueBay. We didn't think BlueBay did a good job in controlling the mosquitoes. We were using bug repellent but still were "chased" by mosquitoes. Our boy was bitten at least 2 dozen times each day. His left ear got infections from the bites. We met other guests from Sol Resort, they were bitten only 3 times in their entire week in Cayo Coco.
We brought bug repellent and after bite with us. We kept the bug repellent at our room, and were welcomed by a swamp of mosquitoes at our first night unprepared. We sometimes saw the hotel ground worker spreading smoke around the restaurant to control the mosquitoes.
Our family loves great outdoor and is a frequent camper in the summer. However, we found that the mosquitoes were a bit excessive. Anyway, we talked to an old lady. Her daughter's family was at BlueBay 2 weeks before us, but they didn't see mosquitoes.
Tip: Always bring your bug repellent with you at all time. The mosquitoes were everywhere, anytime.
Pillar Beach
We went to the Pillar Beach on our Day 5. It was a 50 minute double-decker bus ride to the beach. It was 5 CUC per person round trip. There was a restaurant and washroom on the beach. There was no fresh water shower on site. It cost 2 CUC for each long chair and 2 CUC for coconut water. There were a lot of fish near the water. We had some bread with us. It was fun to feed school of fish swimming around us in shallow water. We went back to Pillar Beach again on Day 6.
Espectacular Excursion
We went to the 75 CUC excursion to Ciego de Ávila. We went to a similar one when we visited Holguin a few year ago. We found the trip a bit boring and don't worth it. We won't recommend this one. However, our boy loves the steam train ride.

A letter to Sirius Canada
Dear Sirius Customer Relation Department,
I recently received a welcome letter dated Jan 22, 2011 from Sirius, giving me instructions how to start. When I called 1866-635-9632 to set up my username and password, I was told that my account was activated back in Oct 28 2010, and my trial expire on Apr 28, 2011.
When ask why I only get the welcome letter 3 months after the activation, the manager Stephen explained they sometimes send out welcome in a few months and there is nothing wrong with their customer service. I was not satisfied with the answer. I turned on my ipod recorder and advised him that I am recording our conversation, then I asked him to repeat his answer regarding how they handle their welcome letter. He showed his anger and immediately hang up my phone. I played the audio again and again, this is very unprofessional.
All I want is to try out the 6-month trial service. I just don't understand why it is so hard to give customer a fair treatment. If something went wrong in communication between a customer and Sirius, how much would it cost Sirius to make sure I will get my 6 month trial as stated in the Sirius welcome letter? I am shocked to get this treatment from Sirius Canada.
I hope somebody from Sirius Canada to contact me (at 613-356-6340) to address this issue. If Sirius chooses to give me 3 months trial instead of 6 months trial as stated in my welcome letter dated Jan 21, 2011, I will make sure Sirius didn't save a few dollars by doing so. I will try to publish our conversation to facebook, blog, youtube, etc to warn my friends about service at Sirius. I will also file a complaint with Consumer's Association of Canada.

下面有三���答案：卡特、�斯福、艾森豪。我知道是�斯福，�故意在答�卡上�下了艾森豪的名字。
接下�的�道�都是如此。可�竟��是按先易後�的原�出的，��的�度不�增加，甚至很陌生。
在做後面的��，我�不知道哪�是正�答案，所以答��就�始犯�，但按照�定，我又不能空著不答，
最後我只能硬著�皮，像以往那��蒙一通。走出考�，我忽然��自己手心�竟然出了汗。

他竟然�我��放�，�且�限制地�我��救的��？考零分比考A。
我�得�是前者更容易一些。於是，我看到了一�曙光。
很快又迎�了第二次考�......�局�是一�，又是"C"！
第三次、第四次......我一次又一次地向零分�刺。�了早日考到零分，我不由自主地�始努力��。
然後，我�始��自己有把握做�的�越�越多。�句��，我�做的�越�越多。
一年後，我成功地考到了第一�零分！也就是�，�卷上所有的�目我都�做，
每一�我都能判�出哪�答案正�，哪�答案是��的。
�墉那天很高�，�自下�房做了一桌菜，端起酒杯大�宣�："��，祝�你，�於考到了零分！"

後�，我考上了哈佛，�完�士，正在�博士，�了��了�，拿了音��，�得了表演�，
似乎在18�以後，我就再也不去想做舒�赫第二了。我�得我完全可以做到��第一。

（倫敦26日綜合電）英國一名58歲的男子，中了900萬英鎊（4410萬令吉）樂透，便辭職享樂，卻因太無聊而染上酗酒惡習，最終心臟病發喪生。
《每日郵報》報導，高夫原先是個烘焙師傅，2005年中樂透后，便辭掉工作，和妻子買了BMW最貴的一部車、賽馬和足球俱樂部的頂級包廂。

閒閒沒事的高夫過了一陣子奢華生活后覺得人生無趣，而開始酗酒，結縭27年的妻子在中獎兩年后跟他分居。
他搬進一間租來的百萬豪宅，高薪聘請司機和園丁。之后后染上賭博惡習，還被詐騙集團以投資名義騙了逾70萬英鎊，今年3月因酗酒而心臟病發死了。
育有2個孩子的高夫留下128萬英鎊遺產，扣除債務后剩78萬英鎊。
高夫去年接受訪問時表示，中樂透毀了他一生。他說："我的生活沒了規範，所以我開始一直花錢，最后變得很無聊。""我會勸大家不要買彩券。"

I recently watched Prince of Egypt with family, and fall in love with this song that I listen over and over again, it truly moves me and encourages me to put faith and total confidence in the Lord, He will make it possible even when we see things/people as impossible...sometimes the reality of life is hard on us (job, family, children, church, house, car, bills, health, difficult people, the list goes on and on....) but we got to look at Jesus and put total faith and confidence, we got to believe and see things from spiritual eyes ... I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13)

Few: Just a sharing of God's grace
Dear brothers and sisters,
Our family car totally broke down last Saturday. We have to shop for a new car in the next few days. Big headache for us now. However, there are still many things to be thankful. First of all, we really thank God for His protection to bring Doreen, mum and Jacob home safely. The brake line broke and the brake fluid burst and leaked when they were on the road. Doreen didn't realized the problem, and kept driving back home. She was wondering why she had to hit the brake pedal all the way to the floor in order to stop the car. (That is already in a very dangerous condition.)
Secondly, we really thank God that bro KoYung and sis Kai-Huei offered to borrow their car to us during our difficult time. We are so touched that they graciously borrowed us their new 2010 Rondo so that we could carry mum's luggage to airport today.
Thirdly, without the brake problem, car dealer only offers $500 for the trade-in due to the poorly maintained condition. (Our neighbor who knows car told me that I can still sell it for $1000 in street). That was 5 months ago. Now, with the brake line and fuel line system needs to be replaced (at least $1350), we've decided not to repair and keep the car. I only had 3 choices (1) find somebody to sell it (which is impossible for me) (2) to get the Canadian Tire to call their partner to tow it away for recycle (3) I will find somebody to tow it away for recycle. I first thought I will never find a buyer, but God has arranged a mechanic to approach me when we went to our car to pick up our items. Well, I managed to sell it for $300. I've arranged to transfer the car ownership to him tomorrow.
Well, I was stressed in the past 2 days. After writing this email, and counting God's grace to our family. He is always there for me. Rescued miner saw God, devil during captivity
(CNN) -- Having spent 69 days trapped inside the San Jose mine in Chile before being rescued, Mario Sepulveda says he is a changed man.
"I buried 40 years of my life down there, and I'm going to live a lot longer to be a new person," he said in a video conference, hours after surfacing from half a mile underground.
Sepulveda, the second miner extracted from the mine, has advice for those who take undue risks in their lives.
"I think I have learned a lot of wonderful lessons about taking the good path in life," he said. "For those of you able to call your wives, or your husbands, do so."
During the time he was trapped inside the mine, Sepulveda said he saw both good and evil.
"I was with God, and I was with the devil. They fought, and God won," he said. Sepulveda said he grabbed God's hand and never doubted that he would be rescued.
