Comment on the K6 survey

Many parents still did not know who our manager was when we had breakfast together after practice on the last weekends. Our manager never shows up.  No fundraising, no directions. Our manager may be doing something behind the scene, but we are dealing with the head coach all the times. Our head coach handed out the jerseys. Our head coach collected the checks. Our head coach told us when and where to take group photos. Our head coach sent out tournament details. Our head coach head coach collected our jerseys, etc.

I wish our head coach would speak more to the players in dressing room. For example, tell them what they did good after a practice or after a game. I like the coach handing out the "hard-working hat" to the player. It would be even better if the coach could describe the reason the player get his/her "hard-working hat" that day.

Re: Do u use whats apps?

Auntie,

No, I don't have whats app. Don't need a smart phone now, so don't own one yet.

I have access to phone, computer and gadgets at home/office. I don't use phone while driving to office. My life is relatively simple on the weekdays where I spend my time either at home or in the office, plus occasionally bringing Jacob out to library or swimming.  On the weekends, we spend most of our time in church, hockey rinks, ski hill or in the park. (Note: Yes, I do have a Nokia cell phone for emergency or when I need it.   )

I am still proud of being old school on this end. I use iPod and tablets at home. However, when stepping out of my home, I don't see the need of using the internet. When I go out, that means "I am disconnected or I am not available" so that I could focus on things I want to do. I enjoy time watching Jacob play hockey. I enjoy time having lunch with my family or friends. I enjoy time worshipping to God. I always plan ahead, not plan as you go.

In restaurant(in Canada), I often see many young people holding their smart phones most of the time while having dinner. I sometimes see kids watching DVD or playing DS2 while their parents having meal. I hardly see them exchanging words. They've forgotten there are actually real human sitting in front of them. They've forgotten the value of having dinner together. The world of social has changed. But, I just don't need to follow it.

Love,
Kian
